Large Double Wall Cardboard Boxes Product Details

Good things come in big packages, too. The large double wall cardboard box is a great choice for businesses that need a generously sized parcel. DS Smith has created the ideal packing solution for those products that are heavy or more fragile, and the double-fluted corrugated cardboard will save you from using large amounts of protective and void fill. It also protects the products against drops, shakes, and – most importantly – side impacts while moving on conveyor belts.

Recommended for

  • Large products such as art frames, bulky clothing and home appliances that need an added layer of protection. The 5-mm corrugated cardboard is ideal for heavier shipments up to 15 kg (or stacked shipments up to 10 kg). But this recommendation may vary depending on the nature of the product and the void fill or protective material used. It also may vary depending on the shipping method used.

Specifications

  • Box thickness of 5 mm with a brown cardboard recycled paper quality up to 100gsm

  • All dimensions shown are internal dimensions

  • 100% recyclable corrugated board made from recycled fibers

  • Those products are not designed to be used for heavy duty products unless stated otherwise, not to be used under high humidity or high temperatures conditions

  • All dimensions may vary by up to 3mm

Key Features

  • Keep fragile and heavy items safe

Large double wall cardboard boxes are a no-frills solution that can support a weight of up to 15 kg or up to 10 kg for stacked shipments. The five layers of alternating paper and flute make it sturdy and reliable during transit, so you can rest assured the product will reach the customer in one piece. It can withstand the adversities of a return shipment and protect the items against bumps and shakes that can cause damage.

  • 100% eco-friendly

DS Smith offers packing solutions that are 100% eco-friendly and made of easily recyclable fibres. We produce boxes for our customers, collect them once after use and recycle them back into more boxes. Your business and customers will value a package that matches their environmental expectations. A buying decision that will help you position your business in a positive light and set your company apart from competitors.

  • Ease of use in various cycles

The large double wall carboard boxes are durable and have a high potential for reuse. Their usability can be extended to various cycles, making this an extremely cost-efficient packing solution that reduces waste at all steps.

How to measure a box?

When measuring a cardboard box, it is important to consider three key dimensions: length, width and height. These measurements provide the internal dimensions of the carton, allowing you to define the space available to pack products and ensure they fit properly.

The dimensions provided on our website are in Millimetres and are following the order LENGTH x WIDTH X HEIGHT.

To measure correctly a cardboard box follow these instructions:

1. Length: start by measuring the longest side of the box base

2. Width: rotate the box 90 degres and measured the other side of the box base

3. Height:measure the distance from the base to the top

What is our Circular Design Metrics?

One of the most important principles of the circular economy is designing for circularity, which involves products and services being designed with their end-of-life in mind, making it easier to recover and regenerate materials.

DS Smith has developed a series of circular design metrics which give us an accurate picture of the degree of implementation of circular design principles in the production of our packaging solutions and provide quantifiable data to show how circular a given packaging solution is and allow quick identification of the areas of improvement required.

Our Circular Design Metrics measure Supply Chain Optimisation, Recyclability, Planet Safety, Material Utilisation, Renewable Sources, Recycled Content, the Carbon Footprint and Design for Reuse.

* This circularity information was made by using the information of an average double wall box.
